ADDITIONAL REGISTRATION REQUIREMENTS FOR HIGH SCHOOL ROWERS ONLY 

Fall, Winter & Spring

 

The Haddonfield High School Crew team requires registration through both the club and the school. Don't forget to:

  1. Fill out the HCC Registration form above

  2. Submit payment via check or Paypal

  3. Register with the school through Genesis

  4. Ensure that your child's HMHS required medical forms have been submitted to the school's nurse's office.

 

Rowers must be cleared for eligibility by the school nurse/Athletics dept. BEFORE they are permitted to practice. Fall, Winter, or Spring Crew can be used toward HMHS P.E. credit. Rowers should request the appropriate form from their school counselor.

 

What to ExpeCT

high school Fall seasoN

September - November

​

For high school rowers, on-the-water practices and erg training sessions take place Monday through Friday after school and Saturday mornings at the Cooper River Boathouse. Practice times will vary based on the team, but will be shared prior to the start of the fall program. Rowers must arrange their own transportation to & from the river; carpooling is encouraged. Fall regattas begin in late September for returning rowers. Novice (first year) rowers typically do not compete in a formal regatta until late in the season; they spend September and October honing the basics and learning to work together as a crew.

high school Winter seasoN

late november - February

 

Athletes train 6 days per week (Monday through Saturday) using ergs (rowing machines), weights, and other equipment under the guidance of the HCC coaching staff and additional fitness experts. This year’s program will feature two new, exciting additions: programming with strength & conditioning trainers, a nutritionist, and yoga for athletes, to cultivate better flexibility, mental clarity, and general wellness. Rowers will also have the opportunity to compete in indoor rowing competitions.

high school spring seasoN

March - May

​

Practices take place Monday through Friday after school and Saturday mornings at the Cooper River Boathouse. Practice times will vary based on the team, but will be shared prior to the start of the fall program. Rowers must arrange their own transportation to & from the river; carpooling is encouraged. Spring regattas begin in March and run through May and are typically on Sundays. Bussing is provided for athletes to and from regattas.

SUMMER LEARN TO ROW 

July - August

​

In these week-long, evening sessions, rowers will learn and practice with experienced coaching staff of Haddonfield Crew Club. These sessions are open to middle and high schoolers interested in learning more about rowing. Athletes should wear athletic wear (e.g., t-shirt, shorts, tank top, etc) and appropriate running shoes sneakers for a warm-up run. They should report at least 10 minutes before the start time to the area behind the Camden County Boathouse (the side that faces the river). Caregivers may park on either side of the boathouse or on the street for drop off and pickup.

MIDDLE SCHOOL Crew 

Fall & Spring seasonS

​

New rowers will learn the basics of rowing from the experienced coaching staff of Haddonfield Crew Club and may even compete in a regatta! Practice is typically two times per week (TBD) should wear athletic wear (e.g., t-shirt, shorts, tank top, etc. Rowers should wear appropriate running shoes sneakers for a warm-up run. They should report at least 10 minutes before practice time to the area behind the Camden County Boathouse (the side that faces the river). Parents/guardians may park on either side of the boathouse or on the street for drop off and pickup.
